A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Scurry County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to read and answer the request. Message contents are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Basic technical and usage details may be recorded when a page loads. These details can include:
- The visitor’s Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- Date and time stamps
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can block or remove cookies, although some functions may behave differently when cookies are disabled.

Outside Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to Scurry County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, other government portals, or independent search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy policy and practices apply.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. That processing occurs on the provider’s systems, not on systems operated by Scurry County Released Inmates.

Personal information is not sold. It may be provided only as needed to these categories:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks serving or measuring ads
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No website, network, storage method, or internet transmission can be promised to be fully secure or immune from a breach.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, use the Contact Us page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, request correction of inaccurate data, seek deletion, or opt out of certain processing. Texas public records held by government bodies are governed separately, including by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552. This site cannot alter a sheriff, court, or corrections record.

This privacy notice may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A revised notice takes effect when posted here with an updated effective date.
